Hunter Gause, the son of a personal stylist and a sculptor, is an American filmmaker based in New York City. His films riff on themes of expectations, authenticity, and passion.

Based on his experiences with dyslexia, Hunter’s debut short film, All the Words on the Page, premiered in competition at the 30th Palm Springs International ShortFest before screening at NewFilmmakers LA (NFMLA), The Downtown Festival, Reelabilities LA, and Pendance Film Festival, among others.

Hunter began in theatre, assisting directors at New York Theatre Workshop, The Wooster Group, and Big Dance Theater. He learned filmmaking by crewing on sets for production companies such as Gummy Films, Simone Films, and CBS.

Currently, his latest short film, Pentimento, is being submitted to festivals and is in pre-production on his third short film, Interval.
